EXODUS 38-40
38| 1 And he made the altar of burnt offering of acacia wood, five cubits long and five cubits wide, square, and three cubits high.
2 And he made its horns on its four corners, the horns were of it. And he overlaid it with bronze.
3 And he made all the utensils for the altar: the pots, and the shovels, and the basins, and the forks, and the fire holders. He made all its utensils of bronze.
4 And he made a grating for the altar, a bronze network, under its rim, midway from the bottom.
5 And he cast four rings for the four corners of the bronze grating, as holders for the poles.
6 And he made the poles of acacia wood, and overlaid them with bronze.
7 And he put the poles into the rings on the sides of the altar, with which to lift it. He made the altar hollow with boards.
8 And he made the basin of bronze and its stand of bronze, from the bronze mirrors of the serving women who did service at the door of the Tent of Meeting.
9 And he made the courtyard: for the south side the screens of the courtyard were of fine woven linen, one hundred cubits long,
10 their twenty columns and their twenty sockets, of bronze. The hooks of the columns and their bands were of silver.
11 And for the north side the screens were one hundred cubits long, their twenty columns and their twenty sockets, of bronze. The hooks of the columns and their bands were of silver.
12 And for the west side there were screens of fifty cubits, their ten columns and their ten sockets. The hooks of the columns and their bands were of silver.
13 And for the east side eastward, fifty cubits:
14 fifteen cubits of screens on the one side, with their three columns and their three sockets,
15 and fifteen cubits of screens the other side of the courtyard gate, on this side and that side, with their three columns and their three sockets.
16 All the screens of the courtyard all around were of fine woven linen.
17 And the sockets for the columns were of bronze, the hooks of the columns and their bands were of silver, and the overlay of their tops was of silver. And all the columns of the courtyard had bands of silver.
18 And the covering for the gate of the courtyard was the work of an embroiderer, of blue and purple and scarlet material, and of fine woven linen, and twenty cubits long, and the height along its width was five cubits, corresponding to the screens of the courtyard.
19 And the columns were four, and their sockets of bronze four, their hooks were of silver, and the overlay of their tops and their bands was of silver.
20 And all the pegs of the Dwelling Place, and of the courtyard all around, were of bronze.
21 These were the appointments of the Dwelling Place, the Dwelling Place of the Witness, which was appointed by the command of Mosheh, for the service of the Lĕwites, by the hand of Ithamar, son of Aharon the priest.
22 And Betsal’ĕl son of Uri, son of Ḥur, of the tribe of Yehuḏah, made all that יהוה had commanded Mosheh.
23 And with him: Oholiaḇ son of Aḥisamaḵ, of the tribe of Dan, an engraver and designer, an embroiderer in blue and purple and scarlet material, and in fine linen.
24 All the gold prepared for the work, in all the work of the set-apart place – and it was the gold of the wave offering – came to be twenty-nine talents and seven hundred and thirty sheqels, according to the sheqel of the set-apart place.
25 And the silver from the ones counted of the congregation was one hundred talents and one thousand seven hundred and seventy-five sheqels, according to the sheqel of the set-apart place:
26 a beqa, half a sheqel for a head, according to the sheqel of the set-apart place, for everyone passing over to those counted, from twenty years old and above, for six hundred and three thousand, five hundred and fifty men.
27 And the hundred talents of silver were for casting the sockets of the set-apart place and the bases of the veil: one hundred sockets from the hundred talents, a talent for each socket.
28 And of the one thousand seven hundred and seventy-five sheqels he made hooks for the columns, and overlaid their tops, and made bands for them.
29 And the bronze of the wave offering was seventy talents and two thousand four hundred sheqels.
30 And with it he made the sockets for the door of the Tent of Meeting, and the bronze altar, and the bronze grating for it, and all the utensils for the altar,
31 and the sockets for the courtyard all around, and the bases for the courtyard gate, and all the pegs for the Dwelling Place, and all the pegs for the courtyard all around.
39| 1 And of the blue and purple and scarlet material they made woven garments, to do service in the set-apart place. And they made the set-apart garments which were for Aharon, as יהוה had commanded Mosheh.
2 And he made the shoulder garment of gold, of blue and purple and scarlet material, and of fine woven linen.
3 And they beat out sheets of gold and cut it into threads, to work it in with the blue and purple and scarlet material, and the fine linen, the work of a skilled workman.
4 They made shoulder pieces for it to join it, it was joined at its two edges.
5 And the embroidered band of his shoulder garment that was on it was of the same work of gold, and blue and purple and scarlet material, and of fine woven linen, as יהוה had commanded Mosheh.
6 And they made the shoham stones, set in plated work of gold, engraved as signets are engraved, according to the names of the sons of Yisra’ĕl.
7 And he put them on the shoulders of the shoulder garment, stones of remembrance for the sons of Yisra’ĕl, as יהוה had commanded Mosheh.
8 And he made the breastplate, a work of a skilled workman, like the work of the shoulder garment, of gold, of blue and purple and scarlet material, and of fine woven linen.
9 It was square, they made the breastplate double, its length a span, its width a span, doubled.
10 And they filled it with four rows of stones: a row of ruby, a topaz, and an emerald was the first row;
11 and the second row a turquoise, a sapphire, and a diamond;
12 and the third row a jacinth, an agate, and an amethyst;
13 and the fourth row a beryl, a shoham, and a jasper – set in plated work of gold in their settings.
14 And the stones were according to the names of the sons of Yisra’ĕl, twelve according to their names, engraved like a signet, each one with its own name according to the twelve tribes.
15 And they made braided chains of corded work for the breastplate at the ends, of clean gold.
16 And they made two settings of gold and two gold rings, and put the two rings on the two ends of the breastplate.
17 And they put the two cords of gold in the two rings on the ends of the breastplate.
18 And the two ends of the two cords they fastened in the two settings, and put them on the shoulder pieces of the shoulder garment in the front.
19 And they made two rings of gold and put them on the two ends of the breastplate, on the edge of it, which was on the inward side of the shoulder garment.
20 And they made two gold rings and put them on the two shoulder pieces, underneath the shoulder garment, on the front of it, close to its seam above the embroidered band of the shoulder garment.
21 And they bound the breastplate by means of its rings to the rings of the shoulder garment with a blue cord, so that it would be above the embroidered band of the shoulder garment, and that the breastplate would not come loose from the shoulder garment, as יהוה had commanded Mosheh.
22 And he made the robe of the shoulder garment of woven work, all of blue.
23 And the opening of the robe was in the middle, like the opening in a scaled armour, with a woven binding all around the opening, so that it would not tear.
24 And they made on the hem of the robe pomegranates of blue and purple and scarlet material, twined.
25 And they made bells of clean gold, and put the bells between the pomegranates on the hem of the robe all around between the pomegranates:
26 a bell and a pomegranate, a bell and a pomegranate, all around the hem of the robe, for the service, as יהוה had commanded Mosheh.
27 And they made the long shirt of fine linen, the work of a weaver, for Aharon and his sons,
28 and a turban of fine linen, and the turban ornaments of fine linen, and short trousers of fine woven linen,
29 and a girdle of fine woven linen with blue and purple and scarlet material, the work of an embroiderer, as יהוה had commanded Mosheh.
30 And they made the plate of the set-apart sign of dedication of clean gold, and wrote on it an inscription like the engraving of a signet: SET-APARTNESS TO יהוה.
31 And they put on it a blue cord, to fasten it above on the turban, as יהוה had commanded Mosheh.
32 And all the work of the Dwelling Place of the Tent of Meeting was completed. And the children of Yisra’ĕl did according to all that יהוה had commanded Mosheh, so they did.
33 And they brought the Dwelling Place to Mosheh, the tent and all its furnishings, its hooks, its boards, its bars, and its columns, and its sockets,
34 and the covering of rams’ skins dyed red, and the covering of fine leather, and the veil of the covering,
35 the ark of the Witness with its poles, and the lid of atonement,
36 the table, and all its utensils, and the showbread,
37 the clean lampstand with its lamps, the lamps to be put in order, and all its utensils, and the oil for light,
38 and the altar of gold, and the anointing oil, and the sweet incense, and the covering for the Tent door,
39 the bronze altar and its bronze grating, its poles, and all its utensils, the basin with its stand,
40 the screens of the courtyard, its columns and its sockets, the covering for the courtyard gate, its cords, and its pegs, and all the utensils for the service of the Dwelling Place, for the Tent of Meeting,
41 the woven garments, to do service in the set-apart place: the set-apart garments for Aharon the priest, and his sons’ garments, to serve as priests.
42 According to all that יהוה had commanded Mosheh, so the children of Yisra’ĕl did all the work.
43 And Mosheh looked over all the work and saw they did it as יהוה had commanded, so they had done. And Mosheh blessed them.
40| 1 And יהוה spoke to Mosheh, saying,
2 “On the first day of the first month, you are to raise up the Dwelling Place of the Tent of Meeting,
3 and shall put in it the ark of the Witness, and screen the ark with the veil.
4 “And you shall bring in the table and arrange what belongs on it, and bring in the lampstand and light its lamps.
5 “And you shall set the altar of gold for the incense before the ark of the Witness, and put up the covering of the door to the Dwelling Place.
6 “And you shall set the altar of the burnt offering before the door of the Dwelling Place of the Tent of Meeting,
7 and shall set the basin between the Tent of Meeting and the altar, and shall put water therein.
8 “And you shall set up the courtyard all around, and shall place the covering of the courtyard gate,
9 and shall take the anointing oil, and anoint the Dwelling Place and all that is in it, and shall set it and all its utensils apart, and it shall be set-apart.
10 “And you shall anoint the altar of the burnt offering and all its utensils, and set the altar apart, and the altar shall be most set-apart.
11 “And you shall anoint the basin and its stand, and set it apart.
12 “And you shall bring Aharon and his sons to the door of the Tent of Meeting and wash them with water.
13 “And you shall put the set-apart garments on Aharon, and anoint him and set him apart to serve as priest to Me.
14 “And you shall bring his sons and put long shirts on them,
15 and shall anoint them, as you anointed their father, and they shall serve as priests to Me. And their anointing shall be for them an everlasting priesthood throughout their generations.”
16 And Mosheh did according to all that יהוה had commanded him, so he did.
17 And it came to be in the first month of the second year, on the first day of the month, that the Dwelling Place was raised up.
18 And Mosheh raised up the Dwelling Place and placed its sockets, and set up its boards, and put in its bars, and raised up its columns,
19 and spread the tent over the Dwelling Place and put the covering of the tent on top of it, as יהוה had commanded Mosheh.
20 And he took the Witness and put it into the ark, and he put the poles through the rings of the ark, and put the lid of atonement on top of the ark,
21 and brought the ark into the Dwelling Place, and placed the veil of the covering to screen off the ark of the Witness, as יהוה had commanded Mosheh.
22 And he put the table in the Tent of Meeting, on the north side of the Dwelling Place, outside the veil,
23 and set the bread in order upon it before יהוה, as יהוה had commanded Mosheh.
24 And he put the lampstand in the Tent of Meeting, opposite the table, on the south side of the Dwelling Place,
25 and lit the lamps before יהוה, as יהוה had commanded Mosheh.
26 And he put the gold altar in the Tent of Meeting in front of the veil,
27 and burned sweet incense on it, as יהוה had commanded Mosheh.
28 And he set up the covering to the door of the Dwelling Place.
29 And he put the altar of burnt offering before the door of the Dwelling Place of the Tent of Meeting, and offered upon it the burnt offering and the grain offering, as יהוה had commanded Mosheh.
30 And he put the basin between the Tent of Meeting and the altar, and put water therein for washing.
31 And Mosheh, and Aharon, and his sons washed their hands and their feet with water from it,
32 as they went into the Tent of Meeting, and as they came near the altar. They would wash, as יהוה had commanded Mosheh.
33 And he raised up the courtyard all around the Dwelling Place and the altar, and placed the covering of the courtyard gate. And Mosheh completed the work.
34 And the cloud covered the Tent of Meeting, and the esteem of יהוה filled the Dwelling Place.
35 And Mosheh was not able to come into the Tent of Meeting, because the cloud dwelt on it, and the esteem of יהוה filled the Dwelling Place.
36 And when the cloud was taken up from above the Dwelling Place, the children of Yisra’ĕl went onward in all their journeys.
37 But if the cloud was not taken up, then they did not set out till the day that it was taken up.
38 For the cloud of יהוה was on the Dwelling Place by day, and fire was on it by night, before the eyes of all the house of Yisra’ĕl, in all their journeys.
JEREMIAH 35-36
35| 1 The word which came to Yirmeyahu from יהוה in the days of Yehoyaqim son of Yoshiyahu, sovereign of Yehuḏah, saying,
2 “Go to the house of the Rĕḵaḇites. And you shall speak to them, and bring them into the House of יהוה, into one of the rooms, and give them wine to drink.”
3 And I took Ya‛azanyah the son of Yirmeyahu, the son of Ḥaḇatstsinyah, and his brothers and all his sons, and all the house of the Rĕḵaḇites,
4 and brought them into the House of יהוה, into the room of the sons of Ḥanan son of Yig̅dalyahu, a man of Elohim, which was by the chamber of the heads, above the room of Ma‛asĕyahu son of Shallum, the keeper of the door.
5 And I set before the sons of the house of the Rĕḵaḇites bowls filled with wine, and cups, and I said to them, “Drink wine.”
6 But they said, “We do not drink wine, because Yonaḏaḇ the son of Rĕḵaḇ, our father, commanded us, saying, ‘You shall not drink wine, neither you nor your sons, forever.
7 ‘And do not build a house, neither sow seed, nor plant a vineyard, nor have any of these, but dwell in tents all your days, so that you live many days on the face of the land where you are sojourners.’
8 “So we obeyed the voice of Yonaḏaḇ son of Rĕḵaḇ, our father, in all that he commanded us, to drink no wine all our days, we, our wives, our sons, and our daughters,
9 nor to build ourselves houses to dwell in. And we have no vineyard, field or seed.
10 “But we dwell in tents, and have obeyed and done according to all that Yonaḏaḇ our father commanded us.
11 “And it came to be, whenNeḇuḵaḏretst-sar sovereign of Baḇel came up into the land, that we said, ‘Come, let us go to Yerushalayim for fear of the army of the Chaldeans and for fear of the army of the Arameans.’ So we dwell at Yerushalayim.”
12 And the word of יהוה came to Yirmeyahu, saying,
13 “Thus said יהוה of hosts, the Elohim of Yisra’ĕl, ‘Go, and you shall say to the men of Yehuḏah and to the inhabitants of Yerushalayim, “Have you not received instruction, to obey My words?” declares יהוה.
14 “The words of Yonaḏaḇ son of Rĕḵaḇ, which he commanded his sons, not to drink wine, are established, and they have not drunk unto this day, for they have obeyed their father’s command. And as for Me, I have spoken to you, rising early and speaking, but you have not obeyed Me.
15 “And I sent to you all My servants the prophets, rising up early and sending them, saying, ‘Turn, each one from his evil way, and make good your deeds, and do not go after other mighty ones to serve them, and you shall dwell in the land which I have given you and your fathers.’ But you have not inclined your ear, nor obeyed Me.
16 “The sons of Yonaḏaḇ son of Rĕḵaḇ have indeed carried out the command of their father which he commanded them, but this people has not obeyed Me.” ’
17 “Therefore thus said יהוה Elohim of hosts, the Elohim of Yisra’ĕl, ‘See, I am bringing on Yehuḏah and on all the inhabitants of Yerushalayim all the evil I have pronounced against them, because I have spoken to them but they did not listen, and I have called to them but they did not answer.’ ”
18 And Yirmeyahu said to the house of the Rĕḵaḇites, “Thus said יהוה of hosts, the Elohim of Yisra’ĕl, ‘Because you have obeyed the command of Yonaḏaḇ your father, and guarded all his commands and done according to all that he commanded you,
19 therefore thus said יהוה of hosts, the Elohim of Yisra’ĕl, “Of Yonaḏaḇ son of Rĕḵaḇ there shall never cease to be a man to stand before Me.” ’ ”
36| 1 And it came to be in the fourth year of Yehoyaqim son of Yoshiyahu, sovereign of Yehuḏah, that this word came to Yirmeyahu from יהוה, saying,
2 “Take a scroll and write on it all the words that I have spoken to you against Yisra’ĕl, and against Yehuḏah, and against all the nations, from the day I spoke to you, from the days of Yoshiyahu even to this day.
3 “It could be that the house of Yehuḏah hears of all the evil which I plan to bring upon them, so that each one turns back from his evil way, and I shall pardon their crookedness and their sin.”
4 And Yirmeyahu called Baruḵ son of Nĕriyah. And Baruḵ wrote on a scroll from the mouth of Yirmeyahu, all the words of יהוה which He had spoken to him.
5 And Yirmeyahu commanded Baruḵ, saying, “I am shut up, I am unable to enter the House of יהוה.
6 “But you shall enter, and shall read from the scroll which you have written from my mouth, the words of יהוה, in the hearing of the people in the House of יהוה on the day of fasting. And also read them in the hearing of all Yehuḏah who come from their cities.
7 “It could be that they present their supplication before יהוה, and they turn back, each one from his evil way. For great is the displeasure and the wrath that יהוה has spoken against this people.”
8 And Baruḵ son of Nĕriyah did according to all that Yirmeyahu the prophet commanded him, reading from the book the words of יהוה in the House of יהוה.
9 And it came to be in the fifth year of Yehoyaqim son of Yoshiyahu, sovereign of Yehuḏah, in the ninth month, that they called a fast before יהוה to all the people in Yerushalayim, and to all the people who came from the cities of Yehuḏah to Yerushalayim.
10 And Baruḵ read from the book the words of Yirmeyahu in the House of יהוה, in the room of Gemaryahu son of Shaphan the scribe, in the upper courtyard at the entry of the New Gate of the House of יהוה, in the hearing of all the people.
11 And Miḵayehu son of Gemaryahu, son of Shaphan, heard all the words of יהוה from the book,
12 And then he went down to the sovereign’s house, into the scribe’s room. And there all the heads were sitting: Elishama the scribe, and Delayahu son of Shemayahu, and Elnathan son of Aḵbor, and Gemaryahu son of Shaphan, and Tsiḏqiyahu son of Ḥananyahu, and all the heads.
13 And Miḵayehu told them all the words which he heard when Baruḵ read the book in the hearing of the people.
14 Then all the heads sent Yehuḏi son of Nethanyahu, son of Shelemyahu, son of Kushi, to Baruḵ, saying, “Take in your hand the scroll from which you have read in the hearing of the people, and come.” So Baruḵ son of Nĕriyahu took the scroll in his hand and came to them.
15 And they said to him, “Sit down, please, and read it in our hearing.” Then Baruḵ read it in their hearing.
16 And it came to be, when they had heard all the words, that they looked at each other in fear, and said to Baruḵ, “We are certainly going to report all these words to the sovereign.”
17 And they asked Baruḵ, saying, “Please explain to us, how did you write all these words? From his mouth?”
18 And Baruḵ answered them, “From his mouth he spoke all these words to me, and I wrote them with ink in the book.”
19 Then the heads said to Baruḵ, “Go, hide, you and Yirmeyahu, and let no one know where you are.”
20 And they went to the sovereign, into the court. But they put the scroll in the room of Elishama the scribe, and told all the words in the hearing of the sovereign.
21 The sovereign therefore sent Yehuḏi to bring the scroll, and he took it from the room of Elishama the scribe. And Yehuḏi read it in the hearing of the sovereign and in the hearing of all the heads standing beside the sovereign.
22 And the sovereign was sitting in the winter house in the ninth month, with a fire burning on the hearth before him.
23 Then it came to be, when Yehuḏi had read three or four columns, that the sovereign cut it with the scribe’s knife and threw it into the fire that was on the hearth, until the entire scroll was burned in the fire that was on the hearth.
24 Yet the sovereign and all his servants who heard all these words were not afraid, nor did they tear their garments.
25 Moreover, Elnathan, and Delayahu, and Gemaryahu pleaded with the sovereign not to burn the scroll, but he did not listen to them.
26 And the sovereign commanded Yeraḥme’ĕl son of the sovereign, and Serayahu son of Azri’ĕl, and Shelemyahu son of Aḇde’ĕl, to seize Baruḵ the scribe and Yirmeyahu the prophet, but יהוה had hid them.
27 And after the sovereign had burned the scroll with the words which Baruḵ had written from the mouth of Yirmeyahu, the word of יהוה came to Yirmeyahu, saying,
28 “Take another scroll, and write on it all the former words that were in the first scroll which Yehoyaqim the sovereign of Yehuḏah has burned,
29 and say to Yehoyaqim sovereign of Yehuḏah, ‘Thus said יהוה, “You have burned this scroll, saying, ‘Why have you written in it that the sovereign of Baḇel is certainly coming to destroy this land, and cause man and beast to cease from here?’ ”
30 ‘Therefore thus said יהוה concerning Yehoyaqim sovereign of Yehuḏah, “He shall have no one to sit on the throne of Dawiḏ, and his dead body is to be thrown out, to the heat of the day and the frost of the night.
31 “And I shall punish him, and his seed, and his servants for their crookedness. And I shall bring on them, and on the inhabitants of Yerushalayim, and on the men of Yehuḏah all the evil I have spoken against them. But they did not listen.” ’ ”
32 So Yirmeyahu took another scroll and gave it to Baruḵ the scribe, son of Nĕriyahu, who wrote on it from the mouth of Yirmeyahu all the words of the book which Yehoyaqim sovereign of Yehuḏah had burned in the fire. And many similar words were added to them.
1 KINGS 7
7| 1 And Shelomoh built his own house for thirteen years, and he completed his entire house.
2 And he built the house of the forest of Leḇanon. It was one hundred cubits long, and fifty cubits wide, and thirty cubits high, with four rows of cedar columns, and cedar beams on the columns.
3 And it was panelled with cedar above the beams that were on forty-five columns, fifteen to a row.
4 And there were windows with narrowed frames in three rows, and window was opposite window, three times.
5 And all the doorways and doorposts had square frames. And window was opposite window, three times.
6 And he made the porch of the columns, fifty cubits long and thirty cubits wide. And the porch was in front of them, and the columns and the roof was in front of them.
7 And he made a hall for the throne, the Hall of Right-ruling, where he ruled. And it was panelled with cedar from floor to floor.
8 And the house where he was to dwell, in the other courtyard, within the hall was of like workmanship. And Shelomoh made a house like this hall for Pharaoh’s daughter, whom he had taken.
9 All these were of precious stone hewn to size, sawed with a saw, inside and out, from the foundation to the coping, and also on the outside to the great courtyard.
10 And the foundation was of precious stone, large stones, stones of ten cubits and stones of eight cubits.
11 And above were precious stones, hewn to size, and cedar wood.
12 So the great courtyard all around had three rows of hewn stones and a row of cedar beams, as was the inner courtyard of the House of יהוה and the porch of the House.
13 And Sovereign Shelomoh sent and brought Ḥiram from Tsor.
14 He was the son of a widow from the tribe of Naphtali, and his father was a man of Tsor, a bronze worker. And he was filled with wisdom and understanding and skill in working with all kinds of bronze work. So he came to Sovereign Shelomoh and did all his work.
15 And he cast two columns of bronze, each one eighteen cubits high, and a line of twelve cubits measured the circumference of each.
16 And he made two capitals of cast bronze, to put on the tops of the columns – the height of one capital was five cubits, and the height of the other capital was five cubits –
17 a lattice network, with wreaths of chainwork, for the capitals which were on top of the columns, seven chains for one capital and seven for the other capital.
18 And he made the columns, and two rows of pomegranates above the network all around to cover the capitals that were on top, and so he did for the other capital.
19 And the capitals that were on top of the columns in the hall were in the shape of lilies, four cubits.
20 And there were capitals above also on the two columns, by the bulge which was next to the network. And the pomegranates were two hundred, in rows on each of the capitals all around.
21 And he set up the columns by the porch of the hĕḵal. And he set up the column on the right and called its name Yaḵin, and he set up the column on the left and called its name Bo‛az.
22 And on the top of the columns was lily work. Thus the work of the columns was completed.
23 And he made the Sea of cast metal, ten cubits from one rim to the other, round all about, and five cubits high, and a line of thirty cubits measured around it.
24 And below its rim were ornaments all around, ten to a cubit, all the way around the Sea. The ornaments were cast in two rows when it was cast.
25 It stood on twelve oxen, three facing north, and three facing west, and three facing south, and three facing east. And the Sea was set upon them, and all their back parts were inward.
26 And it was a handbreadth thick, and its rim was shaped like the rim of a cup, like a lily blossom. It held two thousand baths.
27 And he made ten stands of bronze, each stand was four cubits long, and four cubits wide, and three cubits high.
28 And this is how the stands were made: They had side panels, and the side panels were between frames,
29 and on the side panels that were between the frames were lions, oxen, and keruḇim, and a pedestal above on the frame. Below the lions and oxen were wreaths of beaten work.
30 And each stand had four bronze wheels and axles of bronze, and its four feet had supports. Under the basin were cast supports beside each wreath.
31 And its opening inside the crown at the top was one cubit. And the opening was round, like the work of the pedestal, one and a half cubits. And also on the opening were engravings, but the side panels were square, not round.
32 And the four wheels were under the side panels, and the axles of the wheels were joined to the stand, and the height of a wheel was one and a half cubits.
33 And the wheels were made like chariot wheels. Their axle pins, and their rims, and their spokes, and their hubs were all cast.
34 And there were four supports at the four corners of each stand, its supports were of the stand itself.
35 And on the top of the stand, half a cubit in height – round all around. And on the top of the stand, its flanges and its side panels were of the same.
36 And on the plates of its flanges and on its side panels he engraved keruḇim, lions, and palm trees, according to the clear space on each, with wreaths all around.
37 He made the ten stands like this: all of them were of one mould, one measure, and one shape.
38 And he made ten basins of bronze; each basin contained forty baths, and each basin was four cubits, one basin on each of the ten stands.
39 And he put five stands on the right side of the house, and five on the left side of the house, and he put the Sea on the right side of the house to the east, facing the south.
40 And Ḥiram made the pots and the shovels and the bowls. And Ḥiram completed doing all the work that he was to do for Sovereign Shelomoh on the House of יהוה:
41 the two columns, and the bowl-shaped capitals that were on top of the columns, and the two networks covering the two bowl-shaped capitals which were on top of the columns;
42 and the four hundred pomegranates for the two networks, two rows of pomegranates for each network to cover the two bowl-shaped capitals that were on top of the columns;
43 and the ten stands, and the ten basins on the stands;
44 and the one Sea, and twelve oxen under the Sea;
45 and the pots, and the shovels, and the bowls. And all these utensils which Ḥiram made for Sovereign Shelomoh for the House of יהוה were of polished bronze.
46 The sovereign had them cast in clay in the district of Yardĕn between Sukkoth and Tsarethan.
47 And Shelomoh left all the utensils unweighed, because they were many, nor was the weight of the bronze searched out.
48 So Shelomoh made all the utensils for the House of יהוה: the altar of gold, and the table of gold on which was the showbread;
49 and the lampstands of refined gold, five on the right side and five on the left in front of the Speaking Place, with the flowers and the lamps and the snuffers of gold;
50 and the basins, and the snuffers, and the bowls, and the ladles, and the fire holders of refined gold, and the hinges of gold, both for the doors of the inner house, the Most Set-apart Place, and for the doors of the house of the Hĕḵal.
51 Thus all the work which Sovereign Shelomoh had done for the House of יהוה was completed. And Shelomoh brought in the set-apart items of his father Dawiḏ: the silver and the gold and the utensils, and he put them in the treasuries of the House of יהוה.
ROMANS 3-4
3| 1 What then is the advantage of the Yehuḏite, or what is the value of the circumcision?
2 Much in every way! Because firstly indeed, that they were entrusted with the Words of Elohim.
3 For what if some did not believe? Shall their unbelief nullify the trustworthiness of Elohim?
4 Let it not be! But let Elohim be true, and every man a liar, as it has been written, “That You should be declared right in Your words, and prevail in Your judging.”
5 But if our unrighteousness establishes the righteousness of Elohim, what shall we say? Is Elohim unrighteous who is inflicting wrath? I speak as a man.
6 Let it not be! Otherwise how shall Elohim judge the world?
7 For if the truth of Elohim has increased through my lie, to His esteem, why am I also still judged as a sinner?
8 And why not say, “Let us do evil so that the good might come”? – as we are wrongly accused and as some claim that we say. Their judgment is in the right.
9 What then? Are we better than they? Not at all, for we have previously accused both Yehuḏim and Greeks that they are all under sin.
10 As it has been written, “There is none righteous, no, not one!
11 “There is no one who is understanding, there is none who is seeking Elohim.
12 “They all have turned aside, they have together become worthless. There is none who does good, no, not one.”
13 “Their throat is an open tomb, with their tongues they have deceived,” “The poison of adders is under their lips,”
14 “Whose mouth is filled with cursing and bitterness.”
15 “Their feet are swift to shed blood,
16 ruin and wretchedness are in their ways,
17 and the way of peace they have not known.”
18 “There is no fear of Elohim before their eyes.”
19 And we know that whatever the Torah says, it says to those who are in the Torah, so that every mouth might be stopped, and all the world come under judgment before Elohim.
20 Therefore by works of Torah no flesh shall be declared right before Him, for by the Torah is the knowledge of sin.a
21 But now, apart from the Torah, a righteousness of Elohim has been revealed, being witnessed by the Torah and the Prophets,
22 and the righteousness of Elohim is through belief in יהושע Messiah to all and on all who believe. For there is no difference,
23 for all have sinned and fall short of the esteem of Elohim,
24 being declared right, without paying, by His favour through the redemption which is in Messiah יהושע,
25 whom Elohim set forth as an atonement, through belief in His blood, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His tolerance Elohim had passed over the sins that had taken place before,
26 to demonstrate at the present time His righteousness, that He is righteous and declares righteous the one who has belief in יהושע.
27 Where, then, is the boasting? It is shut out. By what Torah? Of works? No, but by the Torah of belief.
28 For we reckon that a man is declared right by belief without works of Torah.
29 Or is He the Elohim of the Yehuḏim only, and not also of the gentiles? Yea, of the gentiles also,
30 since it is one Elohim who shall declare right the circumcised by belief and the uncircumcised through belief.
31 Do we then nullify the Torah through the belief? Let it not be! On the contrary, we establish the Torah.
4| 1 What, then, shall we say Aḇraham our father, to have found, according to the flesh?
2 For if Aḇraham was declared right by works, he has ground for boasting, but not before Elohim.
3 For what does the Scripture say? “Aḇraham believed Elohim, and it was reckoned to him for righteousness.”a
4 And to him who is working, the reward is not reckoned as a favour but as a debt.
5 And to him who is not working but believes on Him who is declaring right the wicked, his belief is reckoned for righteousness,
6 even as Dawiḏ also says of the blessedness of the man to whom Elohim reckons righteousness without works:
7 “Blessed are those whose lawlessnesses are forgiven, and whose sins are covered,
8 blessed is the man to whom יהוה shall by no means reckon sin.”
9 Is this blessing then upon the circumcised only, or also upon the uncircumcised? For we affirm: Belief was reckoned unto Aḇraham for righteousness.
10 How then was it reckoned? Being in circumcision, or in uncircumcision? Not in circumcision, but in uncircumcision.
11 And he received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness of the belief while in uncircumcision, for him to be a father of all those believing through uncircumcision, for righteousness to be reckoned to them also,
12 and the father of circumcision to those who not only are of the circumcision, but who also walk in the steps of the belief which our father Aḇraham had in uncircumcision.
13 For the promise that he should be the heir of the world, was not to Aḇraham or to his seed through the Torah, but through a righteousness of belief.
14 For if those who are of the Torah are heirs, belief has been made useless, and the promise has been nullified,
15 for the Torah works out wrath, for where there is no Torah there is no transgression.
16 On account of this it is of belief, that it be according to favour, for the promise to be made certain to all the seed, not only to those who are of the Torah, but also to those who are of the belief of Aḇraham, who is father of us all –
17 as it has been written, “I have made you a father of many nations” – in the presence of Him whom he believed, even Elohim, who gives life to the dead and calls that which does not exist as existing,
18 who against all expectation did believe, in expectation, so that he should become father of many nations, according to what was said, “So shall your seed be.”
19 And not having grown weak in belief, he did not consider his own body, already dead, being about a hundred years old, and the deadness of Sarah’s womb,
20 he did not hesitate about the promise of Elohim through unbelief, but was strengthened in belief, giving esteem to Elohim,
21 and being completely persuaded that what He had promised He was also able to do.
22 Therefore also “it was reckoned to him for righteousness.”
23 And not because of him alone was it written that it was reckoned to him,
24 but also because of us, to whom it shall be reckoned, to us who believe in Him who raised up יהושע our Master from the dead,
25 who was delivered up because of our trespasses, and was raised for us to be declared right.
Psalms 87-88
87| 1 His foundation is In the set-apart mountains.
2 יהוה loves the gates of Tsiyon More than all the dwellings of Ya‛aqoḇ.
3 Esteemed matters are spoken of you, O city of Elohim: Selah.
4 “I mention Rahaḇ and Baḇel to those who know Me; See, O Philistia and Tsor, with Kush, ‘This and that one was born there.’ ”
5 And of Tsiyon it is said, “Each one was born in her; For the Most High Himself does establish her.”
6 יהוה does write, In the register of the peoples, “This one was born there.” Selah.
7 And the singers and the players on instruments – All my fountains, are in you.
88| 1 O יהוה, Elohim of my deliverance, By day I have cried out, In the night also before You,
2 Let my prayer come before You, Incline Your ear to my cry.
3 For my being is filled with evils, And my life draws near to the grave.
4 I have been reckoned among those Who go down to the pit; I have become like a man Who has no strength,
5 Released among the dead, Like slain ones lying in the grave, Whom You have remembered no more, And who have been cut off from Your hand.
6 You have put me in the lowest pit, In dark places, in the depths.
7 Your wrath has rested heavily upon me, And You have afflicted me with all Your breakers. Selah.
8 You have put away my friends far from me; You have made me an abomination to them; I am shut in and do not go out;
9 My eye grows dim because of affliction. יהוה, I have called upon You, all day long; I have stretched out my hands to You.
10 Would You work wonders for the dead? Would the dead rise to praise You? Selah.
11 Is Your kindness declared in the grave? Your trustworthiness in the place of destruction?
12 Are Your wonders known in the dark? And Your righteousness in the land of no remembrance?
13 But I, unto You I have cried, O יהוה, And in the morning my prayer comes before You.
14 יהוה, why do You reject me? Why do You hide Your face from me?
15 I am afflicted and dying from childhood; I have borne frightening matters from You; I am in despair.
16 Your fierce wrath has gone over me; Your onslaughts have cut me off.
17 They surrounded me like water all day long; They close in upon me altogether.
18 You have put loved one and companion far from me, Darkness is my close friend!
Sirach 23 (RH CHARLES)
23| 1 O YAHUAH, Father and Governor of all my whole life, leave me not to their counsels, and let me not fall by them.
2 ‘Who will set scourges over my thoughts, and the discipline of wisdom over my heart? that they spare me not for my ignorances, and it pass not by my sins:
3 ‘Lest my ignorances increase, and my sins abound to my destruction, and I fall before my adversaries, and my enemy rejoice over me, whose hope is far from your mercy.
4′ O YAHUAH, Father and ELOHIYM of my life, give me not a proud look, but turn away from your servants always a haughty mind.
5 Turn away from me vain hopes and lusting, and you shall hold him up that is desirous always to serve you.
6 ‘Let not the greediness of the belly nor lust of the flesh take hold of me; and give not over me your servant into an impudent mind.
7 ‘Hear, O ye children, the discipline of the mouth: he that keeps it shall never be taken in his lips.
8 ‘The sinner shall be left in his foolishness: both the evil speaker and the proud shall fall thereby.
9 ‘Accustom not your mouth to swearing; neither use yourself to the naming of the Holy One.
10 ‘For as a servant that is continually beaten shall not be without a blue mark: so he that swears and names ELOHIYM continually shall not be faultless.
11 ‘A man that uses much swearing shall be filled with iniquity, and the plague shall never depart from his house: if he shall offend, his sin shall be upon him: and if he acknowledge not his sin, he makes a double offence: and if he swear in vain, he shall not be innocent, but his house shall be full of calamities.
12 There is a word that is clothed about with death: ELOHIYM grant that it be not found in the heritage of Ya`aqov; for all such things shall be far from the righteous, and they shall not wallow in their sins.
13 ‘Use not your mouth to intemperate swearing, for therein is the word of sin.
14 Remember your father and your mother, when you sit among great men. Be not forgetful before them, and so you by your custom become a fool, and wish that you had not been born, and curse the day of your nativity.
15 ‘The man that is accustomed to opprobrious words will never be reformed all the days of his life.
16 ‘Two sorts of men multiply sin, and the third will bring wrath: a hot mind is as a burning fire, it will never be quenched till it be consumed: a fornicator in the body of his flesh will never cease till he has kindled a fire.
17 ‘All bread is sweet to a whoremonger, he will not leave off till he die.
18 ‘A man that breaks wedlock, saying thus in his heart, Who sees me? I am compassed about with darkness, the walls cover me, and nobody sees me; what need I to fear? EL ELYON will not remember my sins:
19 ‘Such a man only fears the eyes of men, and knows not that the eyes of YAHUAH are ten thousand times brighter than the sun, beholding all the ways of men, and considering the most secret parts.
20 ‘He knew all things ere ever they were created; so also after they were perfected he looked upon them all.
21 ‘This man shall be punished in the streets of the city, and where he suspects not he shall be taken.
22 ‘Thus shall it go also with the woman that leaves her man, and brings in an heir by another.
23 ‘For first, she has disobeyed the Torah of EL ELYON; and secondly, she has trespassed against her own man; and thirdly, she has played the whore in breaking wedlock, and brought children by another man.
24 ‘She shall be brought out into the assembly, and inquisition shall be made of her children.
25 ‘Her children shall not take root, and her branches shall bring forth no fruit.
26 ‘She shall leave her memory to be cursed, and her reproach shall not be blotted out.
27 ‘And they that remain shall know that there is nothing better than the fear of YAHUAH, and that there is nothing sweeter than to take heed unto the commandments of YAHUAH.
28 ‘It is great glory to follow YAHUAH, and to be received of him is long life.
Thank you for joining us as we read through the entire WORD of GOD! As for me and My House, we will serve the LORD.
